OCD, OCPD & BDD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD is a disorder of the brain. It causes severe anxiety in those affected. OCD involves both obsessions and compulsions. These behaviors take a lot of time and get in the way with living your life. Obsessions are the intrusive and recurrent thoughts, ideas or impulses. These thoughts and ideas are not voluntary and often invade a sufferer’s consciousness. Compulsions are the actions an individual feels compelled to preform to reduce anxiety. This action is repeated continuously and carried out without conscious thought.

Hypnoanalysis (psychotherapy using hypnosis) may be effective as it aims to find the root cause of the problem and deal with it. The underlying anxiety that drives the obsessive thoughts and compulsive actions can be effectively resolved..

Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD)
OCPD is a personality disorder. Up until recently, people with OCPD have been labeled as OCD. Although they share similar traits, they are vastly different. A person with OCPD may also have OCD. OCPD sufferers often do not seek professional help until it has a huge impact on their professional or personal lives, and often don't think that there is a problem. They may think that their way is the right way and usually feel comfortable with self-imposed systems of rules. Sufferers are fixated with following procedures and timelines to manage daily tasks, and can become very frustrated when their world does not fit into this timetable. OCPD traits can strain family and work relationships. They can also become fixated on managing money and becoming debt free. OCPD family members can often feel neglected. So far only 100 people in the US have been diagnosed with OCPD. However, you can have OCPD traits without having the disorder. If motivated to change, Hypnoanalysis holds much promise.

Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD)
BDD is often called the imagined ugliness disorder. It is an anxiety disorder where someone becomes fixated with an imagined or slight defect in their physical appearance. This dysfunction usually involves a preoccupation with a person's nose, hair or skin, but it can happen with any part of the body. For a person with BDD, the thought of this flaw is very distressing and does not go away even after treatment. BBD can share similar traits to those of OCD and OCPD. BDD suffers may have difficulties in their relationships and find it hard to concentrate on day-to-day matters. Hypnoanalysis can help with BDD.

Each of the above is $75.00 per session. There may be a need for long-term therapy over three months or longer, depending on what the root cause is.
